Biography

Doug Cain

Doug Cain

is an Air Force veteran and former IT professional before retiring in 2019. Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL, he saw the country every summer as his dad was a teacher. He fell in love with the Colorado mountains, rivers, and streams. He has been boondocking in a tent and backpack for many years. He's lived in North Carolina, Texas, and Alaska as well.

Being forced to retire medically at 61, Doug scrambled to figure out his next move. Living alone in North Carolina,  he bought an old Class C to flip but moved in and called it home. He sold his house and moved to Texas to be near his family. In 2022, Doug and his dog, Beau, hit the road full-time.

Together as a team, Doug & his dog migrate from Texas to Colorado in the late spring and then back again in November. They follow the weather slowly, 45 days each way.

Beau passed in 2023, and Doug found Miles at the Humane Society. He has been to Colorado 3 times and loves to run and play in rivers and with other dogs. He loves humans.

They 💚 their life and want to share it with others.
